Edward L. (Ted) Shipka, MBA, President, is a graduate of the University of Alberta (Edmonton), has been actively engaged in the transportation industry in Canada and the United States for over 40 years. From 1972 to 1985 Ted held various operational, administrative, managerial and executive posts with Pe Ben Industries Company Ltd. and its public parent Pe Ben Oilfield Services Ltd. (TSX). In 1985, Ted co-founded TransContinental Oilfield Services Ltd., an oilfield transport service provider, which he sold in 1987. After providing consulting services to Mannion Transportation Ltd., a bulk petroleum transport company [both companies were later acquired by the Pe Ben Group in 1991 and 1995 respectively], he rejoined Pe Ben Group of companies in 1988, where he worked until that group was acquired in a hostile take-over in 2006. From 2006 until 2012, Ted co-founded and worked at Triple Random Inc., a unionized, specialized heavy equipment and material transport company, as President & C.E.O. In 2012 he sold his majority interest. Since 2012, Ted has focused on managing various closely-held holding and operating companies including 1081903 Alberta Ltd., Wolverine Pipeline Equipment Ltd. and TGS Strategic Investments Inc. Ted is an Honorary Member of the national Pipe Line Contractors of Canada, in which he was past President (1988, 2009), Director (1992-2012) and Chair of the Safety Committee (1992-2010). Ted is also a past Director of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) as well as the Alberta Transportation Training and Development
